Rapeseed Switoch

Technical Profile: Svetoch Winter Rapeseed

Developed by the Vinnytsia State Agricultural Research Station of NAAS, the 'Svetoch' variety is a specialized selection tailored to the climatic conditions of Central and Northern Ukraine. The technical value of this variety lies in its balance between superior winter hardiness and spring regeneration rates, which is crucial for stabilizing yields amidst volatile temperature fluctuations.

Agrobiological Key Features

• Winter Hardiness Architecture: The genetic makeup of this variety is geared toward deep dormancy, enabling the crop to effectively withstand soil freezing. High resistance to fungal pathogens, including alternaria and phoma, mitigates risks of stand density loss during the autumn-winter transition.
• Nutrient Response: The variety shows excellent responsiveness to early spring nitrogen applications. The stem structure provides significant lodging resistance even under intensive fertilization regimes, simplifying harvest logistics and reducing combine losses.
• Seed Quality Parameters: Grain metrics meet standard requirements for oilseed raw materials, featuring an optimal oil content percentage and low erucic acid levels, making the output highly competitive in the processing market.

Selecting this variety is a practical solution for agricultural operations focused on predictable outcomes. Due to its local breeding origin, 'Svetoch' possesses a high level of adaptation to the soil and climatic background of Ukraine, significantly reducing yield dependency on imported agrotechnological standards.
