Fontan — this is a hybrid rapeseed, distinguished by high resistance to drought and diseases, ensuring stable yields even in challenging climatic zones. It belongs to the mid-early maturity group with a vegetation period of approximately 107-110 days. The hybrid has a high yield potential, reaching 56 ц/ha, with an average yield of about 42 ц/ha. Seeds are packaged in bags of 150,000 seeds and are available in two fractions: standard and extra, with 1000-seed masses ranging from 53 to 73 grams. The basket diameter is 22-24 cm, and oil content in seeds varies from 50 to 52%, making it valuable for linseed oil production. The hybrid is resistant to the flea beetle (race AG) and compatible with the CLEARFIELD® herbicide protection system, without exhibiting phytotoxicity after herbicide application, thus avoiding plant development delays. Fontan is suitable for cultivation in various agroclimatic zones, including the Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe. Plants reach a height of approximately 138 cm and exhibit excellent resistance to seed shattering, reducing losses during harvest. The sowing rate is 650-700 thousand seeds per hectare. The hybrid demonstrates high resistance to various diseases, especially to rot-causing pathogens, contributing to crop health and increased yield. Fontan exhibits good winter hardiness and cold resistance, enabling successful cultivation under harsh winter conditions. Thanks to its rapid autumn development, the hybrid is suitable for late sowing and ensures average spring vegetation recovery rates. It is also resistant to lodging and pod cracking, improving harvest quality. High oil content and low erucic acid levels (approximately 0.09%) make this hybrid attractive for producing high-quality vegetable oil. The recommended sowing rate is 450-700 thousand seeds per hectare, depending on growing conditions.
