CMS 508 A 21 is a high-yielding winter rapeseed hybrid that stands out for its high winter hardiness and resistance to lodging, allowing for direct combining. The hybrid has an active autumn development stage, making it recommended for late sowings. Thanks to its high drought resistance, it is suitable for growing in Southern and Central regions and successfully adapts to various soil types, including light and heavy ones.
In terms of agronomic characteristics, CMS 508 A 21 demonstrates high productivity with a yield potential of up to 60 c/ha and an oil content in the grain of about 46.7%. Plants reach a height of about 138 cm, have low erucic acid content (0.09%) and a mass of 1000 grains within 4.9-5.2 g. The hybrid is distinguished by its resistance to diseases, especially types of rot, and has excellent resistance to shattering, which contributes to crop preservation.
Moreover, this rapeseed is valued as green manure, fodder, and nectariferous culture. It quickly builds up green mass during cold autumn and spring periods, which contributes to enriching the soil with organic matter, phosphorus, and sulfur. After decomposition, rapeseed biomass becomes easily digestible fertilizer, increasing humus content in the soil. For green fodder and fertilizer, seeds are sown at a rate of 150-200 g per hundred square meters, with a sowing depth of 2-3 cm and soil rolling. For seed production and nectar collection, the inter-row width is 30-45 cm.
