ES Alonso

Winter rape ES Alonso — an early-maturing simple hybrid developed by the French company Euralis Semences. This variety is characterized by a vegetation period of approximately 275 days and time to flowering of about 120 days. Plants reach a height of 154 to 160 cm, possess high branching ability and rapid early development, ensuring good recovery of spring vegetation. ES Alonso is distinguished by high cold resistance and lodging resistance, making it a reliable choice for various climatic conditions.

The variety has high oil content — around 48%, with glucosinolate content not exceeding 15 mmol/g and erucic acid content less than 0.2%, meeting high quality standards. ES Alonso demonstrates good resistance to major rapeseed diseases such as phomopsis, sclerotinia and cylindrosporiosis, with resistance ratings from 8 to 9 out of 10. Additionally, the variety is highly resistant to pod cracking, which helps preserve yield.

Recommended seeding rate is 500,000 seeds per hectare, with optimal plant density at harvest ranging from 450,000 to 500,000 per hectare in areas with sufficient moisture. ES Alonso is suitable for cultivation in various agroclimatic zones, including Polissia, Forest Steppe and Steppe. Due to its characteristics and resistance, this rapeseed is also recommended as a cover crop, which helps improve soil structure and increase yields of subsequent crops.
