Caramino CL is a spring rapeseed hybrid (Brassica napus var. napus) type 00, characterized by the absence of erucic acid and low glucosinolate content. It is intended for seed production and developed for use in the Clearfield® system, providing effective weed control. The hybrid is included in the State Register in several regions of Russia, including the Volga and West Siberian regions, and is recommended for cultivation in the Republic of Mordovia, Penza Oblast, and Altai Krai. Medium-height plants with a height of approximately 94 cm and a lower branch attachment height of 26 cm, which contributes to good resistance to lodging and shattering.
Caramino CL features early to mid-early flowering and maturation, with a vegetation period ranging from 93 to 99 days depending on the region. The hybrid demonstrates rapid development in early growth stages and high resistance to drought, diseases, and pod cracking, significantly improving yield quality and preservation.
The 1000-seed mass varies from 3.8 to 4.7 grams, and oil content in the seeds reaches 44.0–44.4%, making this hybrid attractive for oilseed production.
High yield potential of Caramino CL is confirmed by regional trials: average yield is approximately 21–22.6 c/ha, with a maximum of 35.5 c/ha recorded in the Republic of Tatarstan in 2019. Plants possess a robust root system and accumulate substantial amounts of plastic substances, contributing to high oilseed yields. Green leaves with slightly serrated edges and pods without a beak and short pedicels ensure ease of harvest and minimize seed losses.
