The winter rapeseed 'Athletic' from the French breeding house RAGT is a solution designed for intensive cultivation technologies. The foundation of its yield performance lies in high adaptability to phytosanitary threats. Breeders at Societe Ragt 2N S.A.S. have focused on strengthening the plant's natural barriers against pathogens that typically cost farmers 15–30% of their yield.

Phytopathological Resistance

The key advantage of this hybrid lies in its genetic armor against a complex of soil-borne and air-borne infections. In field conditions, 'Athletic' demonstrates pronounced resistance to the following threats:

• White mold (Sclerotinia sclerotiorum): reduces the risk of lodging and tissue damage in the stem during the maturation phase.
• Phoma (Phoma lingam): effectively suppresses crown rot, which is critical for successful overwintering.
• Molds and rots: resistance to a wide spectrum of fungal pathogens ensures the purity of the commercial grain harvest.

Agrotechnical Parameters

With a stem height of 150–160 cm, the hybrid possesses an optimal morphotype for mechanized harvesting. The pod attachment height minimizes grain loss during combine operation. Seeding rates range from 400,000 to 600,000 plants per hectare, depending on the climatic zone and soil potential: 400,000 for conditions with sufficient moisture and early sowing, and up to 600,000 for regions with a risk of harsh overwintering.
