Winter wheat Triticum aestivum L. variety 'Divo Donetsk' is a short-stemmed, multi-purpose variety registered in the State Register of Plant Varieties suitable for distribution in Ukraine since 2017. This medium-maturing and medium-height variety exhibits high resistance to lodging and above-average cold tolerance, rated at 6.5 points. In field conditions, 'Divo Donetsk' demonstrates high resistance to diseases such as septoria, powdery mildew, and rust, ensuring stable grain quality meeting the requirements of premium wheat varieties.
The variety belongs to the erythrospermum group and is characterized by high potential yield up to 10 tons per hectare. It is distinguished by high yield stability and adaptability to growing conditions, making it recommended for sowing after non-rotational predecessors. The recommended seeding rate is 4.5 million germinating seeds per hectare after rotation and 5.5 million after non-rotational predecessors.
The agroclimatic conditions of the Donetsk region facilitate successful cultivation of this variety, which belongs to approximately 40 agricultural crop varieties developed in the region. In 2018, the area under winter wheat in the region amounted to 361,300 hectares, with total cereal production reaching 1,342,500 tons at an average yield of 23.6 centners per hectare. In 2019, the planned area for winter crops is expected to increase to 344,200 hectares, confirming the significance and demand for the 'Divo Donetsk' variety in the region's agricultural sector.
