Description PETROVCHANKA
PETROVCHANKA is a variety of soft winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) intended for the production of high-quality flour and bread. It is a mid-early variety with a vegetative period ranging from 219 to 281 days, allowing it to mature at times close to those of regional standard varieties. The plants are medium-height or dwarf, standing 67 to 98 cm tall, with an erect bush and lodging resistance. The spike is pyramidal, loose, and medium length, with colored kernels and a weak waxy coating on the sheath of the flag leaf and the spike. PETROVCHANKA is distinguished by high drought resistance, exceeding standard regional varieties in this regard, as well as good winter hardiness at the standard level. The variety is resistant to diseases such as powdery mildew, loose smut, stem and yellow rust, septoria, and head fusarium, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in various climatic conditions. However, the variety is susceptible to loose smut. The weight of 1000 grains varies from 33 to 48 grams, protein content in the grain is 14-16%, and gluten content is 25-29%, which ensures high baking qualities and classifies the variety as a "strong" wheat. PETROVCHANKA is recommended for cultivation in the North Caucasus region, including the Stavropol Krai and the northern zone of Krasnodar Krai. The variety shows stable yields, with an average for the region of about 48.5 c/ha and a maximum reaching 82.6 c/ha, with a potential of over 100 c/ha under optimal conditions. Thanks to its characteristics and disease resistance, the variety is suitable for sowing after grain corn and is recommended for cultivation on a medium agro-fool after weeded predecessors.
