Originator — Institute of Plant Growing named after V. Ya. Yur'ev, NAAN.
Year of inclusion in the Ukrainian Plant Variety Register — 2010, recommended for cultivation in the Polissia zone of Ukraine.
Trial characteristics. Variety of erythrospermum. Ear with weak waxy coating, white at maturity, cylindrical in shape, 8-9 cm long, medium density. Spikelets at the ear tip are very long, arranged at an angle to the ear, serrated, and turn white after threshing. The ear sheath is slightly slanted, medium-sized. Grain is red, oval in shape. Weight of 1000 grains — 42.2 g.
Biological features. Early-maturing variety, spikes and matures 4–5 days earlier than the medium-maturing variety Podolyanka, belongs to the medium-height type, plant height 95 cm, stem resistant to lodging with strong waxy coating on the upper internode. Plant form is upright. High bushiness, capable of forming more than 700 productive tillers per 1 m2. Enhanced winter hardiness, 7.5 points. In field conditions, tolerant to major diseases. Under artificial infection conditions, resistant to scab diseases.
Agronomic traits. High-yielding variety, potential yield 11.0 t/ha. In the 2008 institute trial, yield reached 9.55 t/ha. In the «Elite» experimental station of Kharkiv region, 2012 yield was 7.30 t/ha; in 2012 at the technological test plot of the Institute of Agriculture of the North-East NAAN, yield was 10.2 t/ha. Strong wheat. Contains protein 12.8–14.5%, gluten — 26–28%, flour strength — 464 o.a., loaf volume from 100 g flour — 700 ml.
Agronomic requirements. Universal type variety, not demanding of growing conditions. Suitable for cultivation after various preceding crops, best are black fallow, occupied fallow, perennial grasses, corn for silage by conventional and intensive technology, maximum yield is formed with intensive technology and optimal doses of mineral fertilizers. Protection of plants from diseases and pests is required during cultivation. Seeds should be treated with fungicide in mixture with insecticide prior to sowing. Reaction to sowing timing is normal. Sowing rate is 4.5 million germinating seeds per 1 ha after fallow, 5.0 million for non-fallow predecessors.
