The ODISEY sunflower hybrid is a modern, high-yielding variety developed through joint selection by Ukraine and France. It belongs to the group of sunflower hybrids tolerant to the herbicide Evrolighting and possesses genetic resistance to this compound, enabling effective weed control and increased yield. The hybrid is highly resistant to drought, downy mildew, and other common diseases, making it especially valuable for cultivation in challenging climatic conditions.
ODISEY is intended for cultivation in the forest-steppe and steppe zones of Ukraine, including southern regions such as Dnipro, Kirovohrad, Poltava, Cherkasy, Odesa, and Kherson Oblasts. The vegetation period lasts 112–116 days, allowing successful cultivation both in southern and northern regions of the country. The hybrid demonstrates stable yields of 24–28 centners per hectare, and under optimal agronomic practices — up to 4.6 tons per hectare, even on poor soils and in hot, dry conditions.
ODISEY seeds have a standard calibration fraction of 2.8–3.0 mm, with a 1000-seed mass of 50–60 grams, and sack weight ranging from 7.5 to 9 kg. The hybrid is high-oleic, with an oil content of approximately 49%, making it attractive for producing high-quality sunflower oil. The recommended seeding rate is 150,000 seeds per 2.2–2.4 hectares. Due to its characteristics and adaptability, ODISEY is a reliable choice for farmers aiming to achieve high and stable sunflower yields.
