The LG 50521 CLP hybrid sunflower is a mid-early, high-yielding variety developed by the French selection company Limagrain. It is characterized by high adaptability to soil-climatic conditions in Ukraine, particularly in the Steppe and Forest-Steppe zones, and is suitable for intensive cultivation technologies, including the Clearfield Plus system. The vegetation period of the hybrid is 100-105 days, plant height reaches 159-180 cm, and the head diameter varies from 16 to 24 cm. Seed oil content reaches approximately 50%, ensuring a high oil yield at yields of 4.2 to 6.0 t/ha (42-60 c/ha). The 1000-seed mass is approximately 69 grams, and the energy of initial growth is rated at 9, which promotes rapid and vigorous plant development in early stages.

LG 50521 CLP exhibits high resistance to various stress factors and diseases. The hybrid shows very high drought tolerance (9 points), good resistance to lodging (8 points) and shattering, as well as tolerance to common sunflower diseases, including phomopsis, phomosis, rust, false powdery mildew, gray and white mold (botrytis and sclerotinia), as well as sunflower rust (classified by races A-G). In addition, the hybrid is resistant to sunflower moth and has good cold tolerance (8 points), which expands its cultivation potential in various climatic conditions.

Sowing recommendations for the LG 50521 CLP hybrid depend on soil moisture levels: in the zone of adequate moisture, the optimal seeding density is 55-60 thousand plants per hectare, while in the zones of moderate or insufficient moisture, it is 45-50 thousand plants per hectare. This approach allows maximum expression of yield potential and ensures stable product quality.
