Early variety selected at the Primorsky Fruit and Berry Experimental Station. Developed by L.G. Setkova. Under state variety testing since 1996.
The tree is low-growing and compact, crown height 2.5-3.5 m. The crown is spherical. The trunk is covered with light-gray bark, branches are greenish-yellow, densely covered with protruding tubercles. One-year-old branches are straight and medium-thick. Leaves are light-green, concave, large, with fine-toothed edges.
Fruits are dark burgundy with a bluish bloom. Average weight 35 g, maximum 50 g. Fruit flavor is good, flesh tender, yellowish, juicy, with a semi-detaching stone. Taste rating 4.5 points. Intended for dessert and canning use.
The variety is relatively resistant to fungal diseases but susceptible to gummosis. Requires protection from moniliosis. Begins fruiting early (by 2-3 years). Yield 30 kg per tree.
Advantages: fairly large, distinctive fruits with good flavor and pineapple aroma, resistance to major plum diseases (red blotch and spot disease). Widely used in breeding.
Disadvantages: insufficient heat and cold hardiness in the Khabarovsk Krai and Amur Oblast; requires grafting onto cold-hardy scaffold-forming rootstocks or planting in a grafted form.
