FISHING

Phlox "Fishing" is an annual herbaceous plant from the Polemoniaceae family, characterized by bright star-shaped flowers and a mid-late flowering period. Stems usually reach a height of 25–30 cm, while the bushes have a branched structure with upright stems. Flowers are gathered in small inflorescences about 7–9 cm in diameter and can display three shades – from light pink to cream or white, creating an effective multi-colored appearance.

For successful cultivation, "Fishing" requires moist, fertile, loose soil. Sowing seeds is conducted in March–April for seedlings: seeds are evenly spread over the surface of a moist substrate and covered with a thin layer of soil or vermiculite. At a temperature of 21–24 °C, seedlings appear within 5–7 days, after which the seedlings are transplanted to a light place. Plants are transplanted into open ground in May at a distance of about 15 cm from each other. Phlox tolerates light frosts well and can be used for greening of beds, borders, mixed borders, balcony boxes, and containers.

The flowering period is long – from June until the first frosts. The plant requires regular watering, fertilizing, and moderate pruning to maintain the bush shape. Problems with powdery mildew are possible, so protective measures must be taken in a timely manner upon the appearance of symptoms. Thanks to its unpretentiousness and bright decorative appeal, "Fishing" becomes an excellent choice for both small garden compositions and large landscape projects.
