NIKOLAI SHCHORS

Phlox paniculata «Nikolai Shchors» is one of the most hardy perennial plants, suitable for both the garden and the front yard. It grows excellently on almost any soil, but shows faster growth and abundant, prolonged flowering in fertilized soils. The plant prefers sunny locations or light partial shade, as well as fertile, well-drained soils with neutral or slightly acidic reaction.

The bush reaches a height of 80 to 90 cm (sometimes up to a meter), remaining compact and sturdy. The leaves are lance-shaped, dark green, and smooth on the surface. Flowers with a diameter of about 4–4.2 cm are gathered into large, dense panicle-type inflorescences, colored in bright coral-red with a raspberry tint and a purple ring. The petals are wavy, do not fade, and the aroma is sweet.

The flowering period begins in mid-July and continues until September, lasting about 4–6 weeks, while the flowering can be very prolonged. For propagation, division of bushes in the autumn or spring period can be used; during division, each part should contain one vegetative bud and shoot. Phlox «Nikolai Shchors» is easy to grow from March to November, and its robustness and good rate of spreading make it a popular choice for lovers of beautiful perennial flowers.
