Pion Benefis — this is a herbaceous hybrid variety developed by the Ukrainian breeder V.F. Horobets in 2003. The plant belongs to the herbaceous peony group and is characterized by a semi-spreading bush up to 70-80 cm tall. Leaves are large, light green with broad lobes, 15-17 cm long, which gives the plant decorative appeal even outside the flowering period.
The flowers of Benefis peony are large, 15-17 cm in diameter, densely double, tightly packed, with petals arranged in a neat sphere. The color is rich burgundy-red, which does not fade in sunlight, ensuring prolonged decorative value. The flower has a "bomb" shape with large rounded outer petals creating a dense inner sphere. One flower develops on each stem. The plant lacks stamens and pistils and also has no fragrance.
Benefis peony belongs to early varieties, allowing enjoyment of its blooms at the beginning of the season. Stems are strong and thick, requiring no additional support, which simplifies care and makes it suitable for cut flowers. Due to its characteristics, the variety is widely used in ornamental gardening and for cutting, adding elegance and vibrancy to any floral arrangement.
