Parsnip «Atlant» – a mid-season variety, distinguished by the high storability of its roots during the autumn-winter period: they retain their qualities from October to May. The vegetative cycle is 105–115 days, while the yield over the years of trials ranges from 44–48 t/hm².
The root of this variety has a conical shape, off-white cream color, and a smooth surface. The average mass of a marketable root is about 370 g, while it possesses a sweet taste and high ascorbic acid content (25.9–26.4 mg/100 g). Leaves grow in an erect or semi-spreading manner: dark green with a serrated edge, medium-sized leaves. The root petiole is medium length and width, slightly curved.
The variety is resistant to diseases and pests, so it does not require the use of pesticides during the growing season. Thanks to its characteristics, «Atlant» is suitable for both home cooking and the canning industry, providing a stable yield and high product quality.
