YOLISCO

Yolisco shallots are an early variety characterized by large, oval-flattened bulbs with a golden hue and a pleasant, moderately spicy flavor without bitterness. Bulb weight ranges from 100 to 200 grams, reaching up to 230 grams under favorable conditions. The outer scales have a yellow or dark yellow tint, sometimes with a brownish hue, while the inner scales are dense, juicy, and white, ensuring good quality and an attractive appearance. This variety is noted for its uniform ripening and excellent storability, allowing the harvest to be kept for 7-8 months under proper conditions.

A key feature of the Yolisco variety is its high resistance to bolting, making it particularly sought after by vegetable growers. The onion tolerates negative temperatures well and is cold-hardy, allowing successful cultivation both for autumn planting under snow and for spring planting. With autumn planting, the harvest can be collected as early as 60-70 days after seedling emergence, while spring planting takes 110-115 days. The variety is not demanding regarding soil types, though regular application of mineral fertilizers significantly increases yield quantity and quality.

Yolisco onions show resistance to pests and diseases, which simplifies care and reduces the need for additional treatments. Storage scales become denser over time, reliably protecting the harvest. Thanks to its characteristics and minimal care requirements, this variety is an excellent choice for obtaining an early and high-quality shallot crop.
