Mavka — a mid-season, high-yielding variety of bulb onion, maturing in 102–114 days. The bulbs are round-oval in shape and feature a rich purple exterior and red interior. Each bulb weighs between 70 and 100 grams. The onion has a mild-pungent flavor, making it especially suitable for fresh salads.
This variety is characterized by dense, robust outer scales that reliably protect the bulb during storage. The inner scales are thick, very juicy, and crisp, ensuring a pleasant texture when eaten. Due to these qualities, Mavka is suitable not only for fresh consumption but also for long-term storage and processing.
The variety’s high yield reaches 26–30 tons per hectare, making it profitable for cultivation both in private gardens and commercial settings. Mavka is ideal for culinary use, particularly in salads, thanks to its mild-pungent flavor and juicy texture.
