Nelly F1 carrot is an early hybrid of the Nantais type, maturing in 80–90 days. The plant forms a leaf rosette ranging from erect to semi-spreading with green, medium-cut leaves. The roots have a cylindrical shape with a blunt tip, smooth and uniform, measuring 18–25 cm in length, about 3 cm in diameter, and weighing 80–110 grams. They feature a beautiful rich orange color and a small crown, with the root protruding slightly above the soil surface. Nelly carrot is distinguished by excellent taste qualities, high marketability, and good transportability. The hybrid is resistant to bolting and not prone to cracking. Dry matter content varies from 11.5% to 14.6%, total sugar is 5.8–7.4%, and β-carotene content reaches 16.8 mg%. Thanks to these characteristics, the carrot is suitable for fresh consumption, production of early bunch products, packaging in polyethylene bags, as well as canning and freezing. For successful cultivation of Nelly F1, fertile soils and high beds are recommended. Sowing density is 0.8–1.1 million seeds per hectare with a row spacing of 45 cm and plant spacing of 5 cm. The hybrid yields 6–8 kg per square meter, making it an attractive choice for commercial production and home gardening.
