Watermelon GREYCE

Growing «Grace» Watermelons: A Practical Perspective

With a maturation period of 70-80 days, this watermelon proves to be a reliable crop that requires minimal adjustments in agronomic practices. The key feature to highlight is its small-seeded nature, which significantly improves the consumer experience and adds value for marketability.

Field Observations and Cultivation

In the field, «Grace» performs predictably. The fruit shape is uniform and round, which simplifies packaging and logistics. An average weight of 5-8 kg is the «gold standard» for retail, as these fruits move quickly in supermarkets. The appearance is a major selling point: the bright yellow flesh always attracts high demand, standing out from standard red varieties.

Practical Care Tips

• Irrigation: The variety responds well to drip irrigation. It is essential to regulate moisture in the final 10 days before harvest to prevent cracking and maintain high sugar content.
• Nutrition: The small-seeded type requires moderate nitrogen levels during the fruit formation phase to ensure the flesh remains crisp and firm.
• Harvesting: Due to uniform ripening, harvesting can be planned in 1-2 passes, significantly reducing labor costs for seasonal workers.

For a grower, «Grace» offers predictable results. By following standard technological guidelines, you are guaranteed a high-quality, marketable product that performs well both in large retail chains and local produce markets.
