The Y 117 flax oilseed variety represents a mid-maturing crop developed for producing high-quality oil suitable for food use. This variety is the first in the world to possess complete resistance to flax fatigue and Fusarium wilt, significantly enhancing its reliability and productivity under various agro-climatic conditions. Y 117 is characterized by reduced linolenic acid content in the oil, ensuring high oxidation stability and improving the quality of the final product.
The variety is recommended for cultivation in short-rotation crop sequences (3-4 fields), as well as under monoculture, including arid regions of southern Russia. It is successfully grown in various regions, including the Central, Volga-Vyatka, Central Black Earth, North Caucasian, Middle-Volga, Lower-Volga, Ural, Western Siberia, and Eastern Siberia. Plant height reaches approximately 75 cm, the mass of 1000 seeds is 5.3 g, and the oil content of seeds reaches 43%, ensuring a potential yield of up to 28 c/ha.
The unique complex resistance of the Y 117 variety to Fusarium spp. fungi and flax fatigue allows its use in intensive agricultural technologies and under short crop rotations, contributing to soil fertility preservation and disease risk reduction. Thanks to these characteristics, the Y 117 variety is a promising choice for agricultural production aimed at producing high-quality linseed oil and other products.
