Flax Salyut

The pedigree and market position of the «Salut» flax

The «Salut» flax variety is the result of dedicated breeding work by a research team at the Rndup Institute of Flax, featuring Ivan Antonovich Golub, Margarita Evgenyevna Maslinskaya, and Alexey Nikolaevich Snopov. Registered in Russia under the «Areket Rus» entity, this variety occupies a specific niche in the market, bridging the gap between fiber yield and seed quality. It is designed for farmers who prioritize consistent performance and plant health over experimental traits.

Agronomic profile and resilience

Standing at 45–55 cm, the «Salut» flax is engineered for structural efficiency. Its height facilitates streamlined mechanical harvesting, reducing the risk of lodging and associated field losses. A standout feature that defines the variety's reputation is its robust resistance to powdery mildew—a persistent pathogen that typically threatens flax yields in humid or variable climate zones. By mitigating this specific threat, «Salut» provides a predictable safeguard for farm productivity.

• Usage: Universal (suitable for both fiber and seed production).
• Disease Resistance: High resistance to powdery mildew.
• Plant Structure: Compact, 45–55 cm growth habit.

For the modern agricultural market, «Salut» represents a reliable, field-tested solution. It is not an unproven newcomer, but rather a stable selection that has withstood rigorous trials under the supervision of its original breeders. Its adoption remains strong among producers looking to balance reliable harvest quality with a reduced need for intensive fungicide applications due to the variety's innate resistance profile.
