FLIZ is a variety of oil flax (Linum usitatissimum L. var. intermedia) characterized by early maturity and high adaptability to various soil and climatic conditions. The plants have an average height ranging from 55 to 73 cm, depending on the variety option, and are characterized by an early onset of flowering. The vegetative period lasts from 85 to 93 days. The seeds are brown in color, with the mass of 1000 seeds varying between 7.2 and 8.05 g. Petal color changes from blue-violet in the bud stage to blue at full development, while the stigma at the base is white. The capsule is of medium size with fringed false septum. The FLIZ variety is distinguished by high oil content in seeds, reaching 46.6-51.2%, which ensures high productivity and stable yield. The potential yield is up to 27 c/ha. Due to its resistance to drought, diseases, pests, lodging, and seed shedding, this flax is suitable for cultivation in various regions, including the Volgo-Vyatka, Central-Black Earth, North Caucasus, Middle Volga, Lower Volga, Ural, and Western Siberia. It is recommended for cultivation in the Volgograd region and the Stavropol Krai. FLIZ can be used for dual purposes — obtaining technical oil and fiber. The variety was developed by individual selection and passed variety trials, which confirmed its high resistance to unfavorable conditions such as drought and mechanical damage. This makes FLIZ a reliable choice for farmers seeking to obtain a quality and stable crop of oil flax.
