Flax Atlant

Stability and Performance: The 'Atlant' Flax Variety

Developed by the Federal Research Center for Bast Fiber Crops and the Kashinsky Flax Mill, 'Atlant' is a fiber flax variety designed to minimize the risks typically associated with technical crop production. By focusing on robustness rather than just peak yield in perfect conditions, this variety offers a reliable return for producers who need an all-rounder.

Agronomic Strength Against Common Threats

The biggest challenge in flax cultivation is the susceptibility of seedlings and mature plants to fungal infections. 'Atlant' stands out from many competitors due to its targeted resistance profile, which effectively protects the farmer's investment:

• Anthracnose Resistance: Provides a critical layer of defense during the sensitive emergence stage.
• Fusarium Resistance: Prevents stem wilt and ensures the crop maintains the density required for a productive harvest.
• Rust Resistance: Protects the integrity of the stem and fiber quality, meeting the high standards of processing facilities.

Why choose 'Atlant'?

This variety is designed for growers who prioritize consistency. As a 'Dolgunez' (fiber) type with universal utility, it offers flexibility: in good years, the primary focus can be on high-quality fiber, while the seeds still provide significant commercial value.

It is not a 'low-effort' crop—flax remains demanding—but the inherent disease resistance of 'Atlant' allows for a smarter approach to fungicide application. By reducing the need for intensive chemical interventions, producers can lower their production costs without sacrificing quality. For those operating in regions where fungal pressure is a persistent threat to yield, 'Atlant' is a strategic choice that balances biological resilience with industrial efficiency.
