Lily Vorozheya

Practical Cultivation and Maintenance

The 'Vorozheya' lily, developed by the I.V. Michurin Federal Scientific Center, is a robust choice for decorative garden beds. Classified as a trumpet lily, it requires specific management due to its structural characteristics. Reaching a height of 90–120 cm, the plant may require staking in open, windy areas to protect the stem during the peak bloom period.

Operational Guidelines

• Flower Management: With a bloom diameter of 8–12 cm, this variety provides a substantial visual impact. To maintain color intensity and structural integrity, it is essential to monitor soil moisture and nutrition levels.
• Fragrance Factor: The 'Vorozheya' is known for its intense, strong aroma. When planning your landscape layout, consider placing these lilies away from high-traffic zones or windows, as the concentrated scent can become overwhelming in confined areas.
• Lighting and Maintenance: The pink petals are sensitive to prolonged direct sunlight, which can lead to color fading. Optimal placement is in areas with light, dappled shade to ensure long-term color retention.

Maintenance following the blooming season follows standard protocol: remove the stems only after the foliage has naturally yellowed. This cycle allows the bulb to store necessary energy for the next growing season. 'Vorozheya' is well-adapted to varied climatic conditions, offering reliable performance with minimal winter protection, making it an excellent investment for both professional landscapes and home garden use.
