The 'HEIR' gooseberry variety is a medium-sized and moderately spreading bush with straight, light-green canes covered with short, thin spines located perpendicular to the cane. Leaves are medium-sized, five-lobed with deep cuts and sharp teeth, featuring a matte and smooth surface. Flowers are of medium size with a pale color, forming single and double-flowered inflorescences. Berries are oval-round, green in color, with an average weight of about 2.2 grams, possessing a pleasant taste with a tasting score of 5 points. Fruits contain 10.1% sugars, 2.0% acids, and 36.2 mg% of vitamin C. Skin is of medium thickness with slight fuzzing, the peduncle is green and medium length, the calyx is closed, and there are few seeds. The variety is characterized by medium yield — about 108.9 centners per hectare, good winter hardiness, and medium drought and heat resistance. 'HEIR' shows high resistance to major gooseberry diseases: anthracnose infection does not exceed 2 points, powdery mildew, septoria, and fire fly are not observed. Due to these qualities, the variety is suitable for cultivation in the Central region and requires standard care, including regular watering, fertilization, and pruning to form the bush. For successful cultivation of 'HEIR' gooseberry, it is recommended to plant with a distance of about 1.5 meters between plants on well-drained soils with sufficient lighting. Propagation is possible via tip layers and dividing bushes. This variety is versatile in use, suitable both for fresh consumption and for processing, thanks to its large and tasty berries with high vitamin and sugar content.
