Description Lyubava
Lubava potato is an early-maturing, high-yielding table variety, characterized by its uniform and early tuber formation. The plant is of medium height with a semi-erect form, small open leaves with wavy edges and a red-purple flower. Tubers are oval-round in shape, with medium-thick red skin and white flesh, weighing from 109 to 210 grams. Starch content varies from 11.2% to 17%, making this variety versatile for various culinary purposes, including mashed potatoes, French fries, and chips. The flesh does not darken when boiled and breaks down well, which is highly appreciated by consumers.

This variety is characterized by high yield — from 288 to 524 centners per hectare, significantly exceeding the performance of many standard varieties. Early yield is also high: at 45 days after emergence, it reaches 145-200 centners per hectare, and at 55 days — 203-272 centners per hectare. Lubava potato has excellent marketability (80-98%) and very good storability (up to 98%), ensuring long-term storage without quality loss. The number of tubers per plant can reach 20, contributing to high productivity.

The variety is resistant to a range of diseases and adverse conditions: it shows resistance to potato scab, Colorado potato beetle, and viral infections, and it tolerates drought and waterlogged soil well. However, Lubava potato is moderately resistant to tuber late blight and moderately susceptible to common and golden potato cyst nematodes. It is recommended for cultivation in the Ural, Siberia, and Far East regions, preferring sunny areas. High yield, excellent taste qualities, and disease resistance make this variety attractive for farmers and consumers.
