Rodima F1

Red cabbage Rodima F1 — a late-maturing hybrid developed by Dutch company Rijk Zwaan. This variety is suitable for cultivation both in open ground and in greenhouses, using either direct sowing or transplanting methods. The vegetation period ranges from 120 to 140 days, allowing for harvest in late seasons. A strong and well-developed root system ensures high drought resistance and adaptability to various soil types, making the hybrid popular throughout Ukraine. Recommended planting density — 25-35 thousand plants per hectare, which contributes to high yield of marketable product.

Cabbage heads have oval or round shape, deep red color, and weight from 1.5 to 4 kg. Inside the head is a small core, and the structure is dense and uniform, ensuring excellent transportability and long-term storage of up to 8-9 months without loss of quality. Leaves are covered with a strong waxy coating, which further protects the crop. The hybrid exhibits uniform maturation, high resistance to cracking and field diseases, making it a reliable choice for commercial cultivation.

Rodima F1 is valued for its excellent taste and versatility in culinary use, allowing the cabbage to be consumed fresh almost year-round. For cultivation, seedlings are planted at a depth of about 4 cm with row spacing of 60 cm, requiring regular watering, weed control, and 2-3 feedings during the vegetation period. The hybrid withstands long-distance transportation well, maintaining freshness and appealing appearance, making it advantageous for marketing and storage.
