Redma F1

Redma F1 Red Cabbage — a mid-season hybrid variety developed by the Dutch company Rijk Zwaan. This variety has a maturation period of 80 to 100 days and is suitable for cultivation both in open ground and in protected environments such as greenhouses or under agrofabric. The recommended planting density is 35–45 thousand plants per hectare, which contributes to achieving high yields of up to 8–10 kg per square meter. The hybrid is resistant to thrips, bacterial diseases, and fusarium, ensuring high field health and stable yields.

The heads of Redma F1 have a round shape and a rich red color, with an average head weight ranging from 1.5 to 3 kilograms. The heads are compact, with leaves evenly layered on a short stem, giving them a dense structure and preventing cracking. The cabbage has a mild, fresh taste without bitterness, making it ideal for fresh consumption. The hybrid also has excellent storability — heads retain their market appearance and freshness for up to a month, which is important for transportation and storage.

Growing Redma F1 involves the use of seedling method: seeds are sown to a depth of about 2 cm in trays or special containers, maintaining a temperature of +7–+8 °C until germination. After the seedlings reach a height of about 18 cm, they are transplanted into the ground at a depth of 4 cm with a spacing of about 60 cm between plants. Main care includes regular watering, weed control, and 2–3 feedings, which promote the formation of high-quality, productive heads. Due to its characteristics, the variety is suitable for both fresh markets and early industrial processing.
