Professor F1 cabbage is a high-quality mid-season hybrid of white cabbage, developed by Syngenta Seeds from the Netherlands. The vegetative period is approximately 115-125 days from seed sowing or transplanting to harvest. The plant exhibits vigorous growth and high yield, adapts well to various growing conditions, including low soil nitrogen levels. Seeds are treated with a fungicide and suitable for both direct sowing in open ground and transplanting, which enhances root system development and overall plant vigor. Professor cabbage forms uniform, dense, and pliable round heads with a snow-white inner structure, free of coarse veins. The weight of one head ranges from 3 to 5 kg. The hybrid is resistant to Fusarium wilt and thrips, significantly reducing the risk of yield loss and lowering plant protection costs. Heads do not crack and retain their market quality in the field throughout the harvesting period, and they withstand transportation well, maintaining quality for up to 4-5 months in storage. Professor F1 cabbage is versatile: it is excellent for fresh consumption, withstands heat treatment, and possesses all necessary qualities for pickling and salting. The recommended planting density is 30-40 thousand plants per hectare, though the hybrid can tolerate higher densities up to 60 thousand plants per hectare, which affects head size.
