The main innovative element applied in Bentanil ® Expert herbicides, thanks to the beta-technologies™ developed by Bayer CropScience specialists, is the concept of microdispersion formulation (MDF). It includes a new patented production process and formulation composition, which were first used in herbicide technology.
The formulation contains specific castor oil derivatives and a new liquid complex carrier, which has excellent technical and ecological properties. This combination leads to significant improvement in herbicide absorption conditions, ensuring better stability and homogeneity of the spray solution by:
forming a spray liquid film that can remain on the target plant's leaf surface for a longer time;
improving spray conditions and ensuring excellent leaf coverage;
absence of active ingredient crystallization in the working solution and on weed leaves, and consequently, better penetration into the target plant.
Selectivity
Bentanil ® Expert combines high herbicidal efficacy of active ingredients against a broad spectrum of weeds with excellent protection of crop plants. This selectivity is based on the fact that active ingredients are hydrolyzed in sugar beet through the formation of chemical compounds that occur at night. In weeds affected by the herbicide, active ingredients do not degrade.
APPLICATION
One of the strong points of Bentanil ® Expert herbicide is flexible dosing, which allows appropriately regulating and minimizing the amount of the product applied. Depending on weed development stage, plant growth conditions, and application method, the dosage can vary from 1.0 L/ha to 1.5–2.0 L/ha per application. The total maximum dosage during the season is 3.0 L/ha. The optimal and effective weed control scheme for sugar beet crops is three applications at 1.0 L/ha per treatment, provided that weeds are in the cotyledon stage. Sugar beet growth stage does not matter.
APPLICATION FEATURES
The early growth of sugar beet and its strong competitive reaction to weeds require that weeds be eliminated over a prolonged period. Applying Bentanil ® Expert herbicide for sequential multiple applications after emergence ensures long-term weed control.
It is recommended to conduct up to three applications to control subsequent weed emergence.
The first application should be conducted when weeds are in the cotyledon stage. The second/third application should be carried out when subsequent weed emergence is in the cotyledon stage. Later application timing will require increased dosage. In case of delayed application on fields infested with weeds such as mustard, it is recommended to add a tank-mix partner. The total number of applications may vary within the maximum seasonal dosage.
COMPATIBILITY
To adapt crop cultivation methods to local conditions or to combine herbicide applications with other measures for protecting sugar beet crops, Bentanil ® Expert herbicide cannot be mixed with other plant protection products.
A sticker is not required, as the formulation already contains oil, which ensures optimal leaf coverage.
ADVANTAGES
Control of a wide spectrum of weeds, including the most problematic weeds on sugar beet (such as water horehound, shepherd's purse, mustard, all crucifers).
Complete absence of formulation crystallization and sedimentation.
Possibility of tank-mixing with other products to address specific weed control challenges on particular fields.
Ease of storage and application; simplicity of preparing the working solution and applying the product.
Flexibility in application, timing, and dosage, allowing easy adaptation to field conditions.
Compliance with high ecological standards.
