Betanal ® MaxPro ® is a unique, innovative oil-dispersed formulation developed and patented by "Bayer CropScience" and obtained through the improvement of ODesi technology — Dual Activation (Advanced Activation). This new combination has partial soil-acting properties, includes active ingredients dispersed in a special oil-based carrier, along with a penetrant and activator. When dissolved in water, it forms an extremely fine activated dispersion of microscopic active ingredient-oil complexes.
MECHANISM OF ACTION
Betanal ® MaxPro ® is rapidly absorbed by plant leaves and partially by the root systems of weeds, and can freely move throughout the plant via both downward and upward nutrient transport. Weed growth and competition with crops cease within a few hours after application.
Within the first days, leaves of affected weeds deform visually, and their color changes toward bleaching (destruction of pigments), beginning with the death of growth points, and death occurs within 1–2 weeks after spraying, depending on weather conditions.
SELECTIVITY
Betanal ® MaxPro ® combines high herbicidal efficacy of active ingredients, activator, and formulation, thereby broadening the weed control spectrum and unmatched selectivity, which is based on the fact that active ingredients are hydrolyzed in sugar beet tissue during the night, while in weeds targeted by the herbicide, active ingredients do not degrade, and, due to the activator and formulation, possess the ability to rapidly penetrate and block key cellular processes in weeds, leading inevitably to their death.
APPLICATION
The uniqueness of Betanal ® MaxPro ® lies in its flexible dosing, allowing for appropriate adjustment and minimization of application rates. Depending on weed growth stage, crop growth conditions, and application method, application rate may vary from 1.25 L/ha to 1.5 L/ha per treatment.
The total maximum application rate per season is 4.0–4.5 L/ha, depending on weather conditions, weed density, spectrum, and growth stage. The most effective protection scheme for sugar beet crops from weeds involves three applications at 1.5 L/ha per treatment, regardless of sugar beet growth stage.
APPLICATION FEATURES
The first application must be conducted at the cotyledon stage of weeds. The second/third applications should be performed when subsequent weed seedlings are at the cotyledon stage. Delaying application will require the full application rate — 1.5 L/ha. The total number of applications may vary within the maximum seasonal dose.
Unique flexibility in application timing — even when applied later, adjusting dosage according to growth stage achieves high efficacy.
COMPATIBILITY
To adapt cultivation methods to local conditions or when combining herbicide treatments with other crop protection measures, Betanal ® MaxPro ® can be mixed with other plant protection products. No surfactant is required, as the product is oil-based, ensuring optimal leaf surface coverage.
In cases where adaptation of Betanal ® MaxPro ® to specific conditions is needed in tank mixes with other herbicides, a 15–20% reduction in the dose of the tank-mix partner is possible without affecting the final efficacy of the tank mix.
