EKATERINODARSKAYA

EKATERINODARSKAYA — high-yield dioecious variety of industrial hemp, intended for fiber and seed production. Plants reach a height of 290–300 cm, have dark green stems, and a compact inflorescence with 10–15 internodes. Seeds are oval-round in shape, gray in color with a mosaic pattern; the mass of 1000 seeds is 18.0–19.0 g. The variety is characterized by low THC content (0.01–0.05 %), which excludes narcotic activity, and high fat content in seeds — about 31.0–31.5 %.

The vegetation period of the variety is from 107 days to technical maturity and up to 135–140 days to full seed maturity. Early sowing dates allow the plant to withstand short-term frosts down to -3…-5 degrees, making it suitable for cultivation in the Krasnodar Krai and the central part of Russia. Sowing rates vary from 8.5 to 60 kg/ha depending on the direction of use — for fiber or seeds.

The yield of the variety is high: stems reach 13–17.2 t/ha, fibers — 4.4–5.0 t/ha with fiber content in stems of 29–30 % and long fiber yield of about 23 %. Seed yield is 5.0–6.6 t/ha. The variety is resistant to major diseases such as fusarium, septoria, and stem gray speckle. EKATERINODARSKAYA is widely used for the production of fabrics, paper, and other products, as well as for oil production from seeds.
