Heuchera Oxamitovyj Shyk

Practical Cultivation: "Oksamytovyi Shyk" Heuchera

Developed by the M.M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden, "Oksamytovyi Shyk" is a heuchera variety tailored for reliable performance. For garden owners, this cultivar is a low-maintenance asset that offers year-round visual appeal, as it retains its foliage even through the winter months, eliminating the look of bare garden beds.

Operational Features

• Light Adaptation: This variety is remarkably versatile. It thrives in full sun, partial shade, and deep shade, making it a problem-solver for areas with varying light conditions. The signature purple foliage remains vibrant regardless of the placement.
• Dimensions and Maintenance: With a compact habit of 30-40 cm in diameter and a height of up to 30 cm, it fits perfectly into edging or rock gardens. The tall flower spikes, reaching 40-70 cm, provide an elegant vertical contrast to the low-growing foliage.
• Garden Care: The plant requires minimal intervention. Routine maintenance is limited to removing spent flower stalks after blooming. The dense rosette structure acts as a living mulch, helping to suppress weeds around the root zone, which significantly reduces the time spent on weeding.

Choosing "Oksamytovyi Shyk" means choosing stability. Its proven hardiness ensures it survives local winters without special protection. Whether you are creating a formal border or a layered perennial bed, this heuchera provides a high-quality aesthetic result with minimal labor and resource input.
