Heuchera, also known as "coral bells," is a perennial herbaceous plant belonging to the Saxifragaceae family. The genus includes more than 37 species, ranging from dwarf forms up to 16 cm tall to larger specimens reaching 65 cm in height. Native to North America, it was introduced to Europe. The plant's name is derived from the German botanist Johann Heinrich von Heuchera. The flowers of Heuchera are small, bell-shaped, measuring 4 to 12 mm, arranged in racemose inflorescences, and may be white, dark pink, or red. Blooming begins in June and lasts about two months; the flowers look attractive even when cut, thanks to their tall stems reaching 40 cm. The foliage of Heuchera holds special decorative value. Leaves may display a variety of colors: green to cream, bronze, brown, red, or purple, and may be variegated or spotted. They differ in size and shape, but one common feature unites them — during the vegetative period, leaf color changes, adding extra decorative appeal. In autumn, the colors become especially vibrant against dull vegetation, and the leaves retain their vivid hues even in winter, making Heuchera attractive throughout the year. Heuchera 'Girl's Primrose' is an excellent choice for decorating gardens and flowerbeds, thanks to its durability and decorative qualities. It looks great both in group plantings and as a solitary specimen, and the diversity of leaf shades allows for creating interesting color accents.
