Description Kremona
Sweet Pea – an annual climbing plant from the legume family, known for its bright aroma and decorative flowers. In height, it can reach from one to two meters, depending on the chosen variety: tall varieties develop up to 2 m, while dwarf ones reach almost 1 m. Since the plant grows vertically, support is required for proper growth; without it, shoots may fail to secure themselves.

Sweet pea shoots possess tendrils that easily grip any structure, making it an ideal choice for living hedges, trellises, and pyramid-shaped compositions. The root system reaches a depth of about 1.5 meters, providing the plant with sufficient moisture and minerals. Flowers are gathered in a loose raceme, usually having a lilac-pink hue, but various colors are found in garden forms – from tender pink to cream, as well as brighter options with two-toned petals.

For maximum decorative effect, it is recommended to combine tall and dwarf varieties in circular planting: planting plants around the circumference and alternating their heights can create a pyramid effect. After the first leaves appear, tops or growth points should be removed to stimulate the formation of side shoots and increase the number of flower stalks. This approach allows for abundant and prolonged flowering, while the plant remains compact and easy to manage.
