Description PRINCESS MARGARET
Hyacinth "PRINCESS MARGARET" (Hyacinthus orientalis ‘Gipsy Princess’) – is a classic Dutch variety, introduced in 1991 and serving as a successor to the popular "Gypsy Queen". The plant reaches a height of 15 to 30 cm, with its inflorescences forming a cylindrical shape, approximately 10–12 cm in length and containing up to 40 bright yellow bell-shaped flowers with a diameter of 3–4 cm. The flowers possess a rich light-lemon hue with a subtle golden nuance, while the fragrance is strong, sweet, and long-lasting, making the plant attractive both in open gardens and in containers.

The bulbs are large, with a diameter of 4–5 cm. After flowering, they enter a period of dormancy, remaining in the form of spherical underground tubers. The leaves are linear, smooth, and green, up to 20–25 cm in length, forming a basal rosette and serving as a nutrient base for the scape. The scapes are sturdy and vertical, reaching a height of up to 25–30 cm, which allows the plant to support its massive inflorescence even during abundant blooming.

The variety grows well in sunny or semi-shaded areas, preferring fertile, loose, and well-drained soil with a neutral or slightly alkaline reaction. The bulbs are planted in autumn (September–October) at a depth of 10–15 cm, with a distance of about 15 cm between plants. "PRINCESS MARGARET" withstands temperatures up to -39 °C, but in severe winters, it is recommended to cover the plantings with mulch or pine branches for additional protection. The flowering period lasts from 13 to 18 days, usually in April–May, and can be used both in open gardens and indoors to create bright spring compositions.
