Hypericum 'SUNSHINE' is a perennial herbaceous plant that attracts attention with its bright golden-yellow flowers and lush bushy growth. The bush reaches a height of 80–90 cm and a width of 40–60 cm, featuring flexible green stems with semi-evergreen leaves up to 4 cm in length. The leaves are colored in shades of green with cream margins and uneven pink blotches, giving the plant a decorative appearance even outside the flowering season.
Flowering occurs from June to August: large inflorescences with a diameter of 5–6 cm open in a bright yellow shade. Flowers remain on the stems for 6–8 weeks, after which fruit capsules form. The plant prefers sunny spots and does not bloom in the shade. It grows well in well-drained soil with a gravel and sand mixture; acidity can be any, but waterlogging and stagnant water are unacceptable.
Hypericum 'SUNSHINE' is easy to grow: seeds can be sown directly into the ground, and the plant can also be propagated by dividing the bush or using root-layered cuttings. The plant is drought-resistant and does not require frequent irrigation; it withstands winter frost without cover, but young plantings are advisable to protect for the first two years. Due to its decorativeness and ease of care, it is suitable for compositions in a sunny garden, waterside zones of water bodies, border plantings along paths, or as edging for lawns. It also looks great in containers on a balcony or terrace, and cuttings retain their decorative appearance for a long time.
