The species of fir tree «Pushkin original» was bred in 1952 by scientist-breeder Vladimir Ivanovich Ermakov in the Ivanteevsky Forest Nursery. The resulting hybrid combines the best qualities of the Siberian fir and the Vich fir, making the tree resistant to winter and drought, and capable of growing quickly to a height of 10–11 meters.
The tree is distinguished by a wide pyramidal crown with a diameter of more than 7 meters, dense needles and a thick, fluffy bark. The needles are shiny, smooth, bright green on top and slightly grayish-green on the bottom, giving the fir a characteristic decorative appearance. The bark is gray, and the branches are thin but strong.
«Pushkin original» is widely used in urban greening and on country estates as a decorative plant. Due to its resistance to adverse climatic conditions, it is suitable for avenue plantings and creating hedges. In addition, the fir is considered beneficial for strengthening immunity and preventing viral infections, which makes it a valuable element of the landscape in residential areas.
