Black currant of the Bariton variety is an early-ripening self-fertile variety bred by Altai breeders. The bushes are medium-sized and compact, which saves space on the site. Canes are of medium thickness and slightly curved, while the crown consists of bright green leaves with a matte and smooth plate decorated with small incisions along the edge. The flowers have a pink color, giving the plant a decorative appearance.
The Bariton variety berries are large, round, weighing from 2.3 to 4.2 grams, with black color and dry detachment. The fruit taste is sour-sweet with an aromatic smell, which makes them attractive for fresh consumption and processing. The variety is characterized by high yield — up to 3 kg per bush starting from the fifth year of age. The berries have good shelf life and transportability, which is convenient for harvesting and storing the crop.
Bariton is distinguished by high winter hardiness, withstanding temperatures down to -46 degrees, as well as drought and heat resistance. The variety shows resistance to such diseases and pests as powdery mildew, bud mite, and red currant blister. It adapts well to various soil types, preferring sunny areas, which makes it a universal choice for growing in gardens and vegetable gardens.
