Cucumber Smak F1 is an early-maturing, bee-pollinated hybrid of the cornichon type, developed by Ukrainian breeders. The vegetation period lasts from 40 to 48 days, allowing harvest at the beginning of the season. The fruits are cylindrical or elongated-oval, 9 to 16 cm long and weighing about 80-100 g. The skin is light green with rare bumps and black spines, while the flesh is dense, juicy, crisp, and free of cavities, ensuring excellent taste.
The hybrid is characterized by high yield — up to 4 kg per square meter — as well as resistance to common cucumber diseases. The fruits retain their market appearance for a long time, do not yellow, and withstand transportation well, making them convenient for sale and processing. Smak F1 is suitable for cultivation both in open ground and in greenhouses, with the crop requiring warmth, adequate moisture, and fertile soil. Seeds should be sown after the danger of frost has passed, when the soil temperature reaches 10-12°C, with a sowing rate of 0.2-0.5 g per square meter and a planting depth of 3-4 cm.
To achieve optimal plant density, thinning should be performed in the 1-2 leaf stage. Cucumber Smak F1 is intended for fresh consumption and canning, making it a versatile choice for gardeners and farmers. Thanks to its characteristics and adaptability, this hybrid ensures a stable and high-quality harvest until mid-autumn.
