Pupyrushkin — a new early-maturing cucumber variety, intended for cultivation in open ground and under plastic coverings. From germination to the start of fruiting, it takes 38-45 days. Plants are medium-vined, predominantly female-flowering, which contributes to high yield. The variety is bee-pollinated with partial parthenocarpy, allowing some fruits to set without bee involvement.
Fruits are conical cucumbers, 6-9 cm long, large-buckled, with black spines, uniform and consistent in size. They are versatile in use and ideal for both barrel pickling and traditional jar canning. Yield under plastic coverings reaches 10-12 kg per square meter, while in open ground — 4-5 kg per square meter.
For cultivation, seeds can be sown directly into the ground or as seedlings, with seedlings aged 20-30 days at transplanting. Recommended planting density — 2-3 plants per square meter. In greenhouses, plants are trellised and trained into a single stem, with side shoots pinched off above the second or third leaf. Regular watering, weeding, loosening, and feeding are required for successful growth. Harvesting fruits is recommended every 2-3 days to maintain high-quality yield.
