ENJ 21 is a promising parthenocarpic hybrid of cucumber of cornichon type, specially developed for cultivation in open ground and protected conditions. The plants have a female flowering type, ensuring stable fruit formation. Fruits reach a length of 11–13 cm, distinguished by large bumps and white pubescence, giving them an attractive appearance and characteristic texture.
The hybrid is characterized by high yield and early maturity: the period from germination to the beginning of fruiting is 38-42 days. Two to three or more fruits form at each node, promoting abundant fruiting. ENJ 21 cucumbers have excellent taste qualities — they are crisp, juicy, without bitterness or hollows, making them ideal for pickling and preservation.
Moreover, ENJ 21 demonstrates high resistance to major cucumber diseases, such as olive spot, true powdery mildew, cucumber mosaic virus, as well as tolerance to downy mildew. The hybrid adapts well to adverse conditions, withstands short-term temperature and humidity fluctuations, ensuring a stable yield even in variable weather.
