Cucumber Amur F1 is a high-yielding early self-pollinating hybrid of cornichon type, developed by the Dutch breeding company Bejo Zaden. The maturation period is 40-50 days, allowing for an early harvest. The fruits are cylindrical, 12-15 cm long, weighing up to 90-100 g, covered with fine spines, and have a uniform dark green color without yellowing. The skin is thin, succulent, with a small seed cavity, which eliminates bitterness and makes the cucumbers tasty both fresh and for pickling and canning.
Hybrid Amur F1 is characterized by high resistance to adverse conditions, including high temperatures, air drought, powdery mildew, and downy mildew. It is suitable for cultivation both in open ground and in plastic or glass greenhouses. Due to its weak branching and high initial parthenocarpy, the plant can be grown without pinching, simplifying agronomy. 2-3 fruits form in leaf axils, and up to 8-10 fruits can develop in one axil, ensuring a prolonged fruiting period and stable yield.
The average yield of cucumber Amur F1 is 25-28 kg per square meter, but with sufficient watering and mineral fertilizer application, it can reach 45-50 kg/m². The fruits have excellent market appearance, are easily transportable, and retain their qualities during long-term storage. This hybrid is especially valued for its high quality and stable yield, as well as its versatility — it is suitable for fresh consumption, pickling, canning, and pikel production.
