Cotton GOHIOT

Working with the Goliot cotton variety

When selecting a cotton variety for the southern regions, agricultural producers prioritize predictability and consistent fiber quality. The "Goliot" variety, developed by the SKFNAC breeders, is a reliable solution for industrial-scale cultivation. Field observations confirm that this variety is highly manageable, avoiding the need for overly complex or exotic agronomic techniques, which is a major advantage during the busy farming season.

Vegetation and maintenance

As an annual crop, "Goliot" follows a clear developmental cycle, allowing for precise scheduling of sowing and defoliation. Growers report that the uniform maturation of the bolls significantly simplifies harvest operations. By reducing the need for constant combine adjustments, operators can minimize field losses and increase overall efficiency. Time saved on maintenance is time reinvested into yield quality.

• Optimized for high-quality fiber production meeting current industrial standards.
• Predictable response to standard fungicide and herbicide applications utilized in the region.
• Seed purity provided by the originator, the North Caucasian Federal Agricultural Research Center (SKFNAC), ensuring reliable crop uniformity.

Operational recommendations

Success with "Goliot" is largely determined by early-stage soil temperature management. The variety requires well-warmed soil to ensure uniform germination. Once established, it forms a robust stalk, demonstrating excellent resistance to lodging even in windy conditions. For large-scale operations, the primary benefit of "Goliot" is its resilience to minor deviations in the fertilizer schedule. It remains stable, forgiving minor operational delays while consistently delivering high-quality commercial fiber output.
