VITRAZ MV

VITRAZ MV is a medium-early complex four-line corn hybrid, primarily intended for silage use. The plant is characterized by high height, reaching 220–240 cm, with broad leaves and medium-thick cylindrical ears. The grain has an intermediate type, closer to dent, with yellow-orange coloring on the upper and lower parts. The 1000-grain weight varies from 280 to 320 g, indicating high seed density and quality. The number of kernels per ear ranges from 670 to 790, and starch content reaches 82%, while protein content is about 9.5%.

The hybrid is characterized by high drought resistance and resistance to lodging, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in the Central Chernozem and North Caucasus regions. The flowering time of the tassel is medium, and the anthocyanin pigmentation of various plant parts, including the sheath of the first leaf and roots, is very weak or absent, which may indicate specific genetic traits of the hybrid. The plant has a long ear with medium-thick stalk and medium or large number of rows of kernels, contributing to high yield.

The average yield of normalized dry matter in the region is about 163.1 c/ha, which is 7.3% higher than the standard level, while the maximum yield reached 504.0 c/ha. The dry matter content in green mass is approximately 40.9%. The hybrid is susceptible to ear and stalk fungal diseases, requiring attention during agronomic practices.
