EG 6004

EG 6004 — mid-early hybrid maize with a dent kernel type, intended for silage use. The plant is semi-erect, reaching a height of 270–280 cm, with an ear attachment height of 100–115 cm. The ear contains 14–16 rows of kernels, with 28–34 kernels per row, yielding a total kernel count of 392–544 per ear. The hybrid exhibits high green mass yield at 70% moisture, reaching 48–56 t/ha across various regions of Ukraine, confirming its adaptability and stability. Hybrid EG 6004 shows high resistance to Fusarium (rating 9), good drought tolerance (7), cold tolerance (8), and resistance to root and stalk lodging (8). Its initial growth energy and stability are rated at 8, ensuring reliable plant development under varying climatic conditions. Recommended planting density varies depending on soil moisture: 50–60 thousand plants per hectare in dry conditions, up to 70–75 thousand in well-watered areas. Optimal soil temperature for sowing is 8 °C. Hybrid EG 6004 is suitable for cultivation across all regions of Ukraine due to its adaptability and resistance to adverse factors.
