Maize GC 195

Hungarian Breeding Excellence

The GK 195 maize hybrid, developed by the Hungarian selection center Gabonakutato (Szeged) and distributed by Woodstock, exemplifies the European standard for intensive farming. Created in collaboration with the research institute Also Kikoto, this hybrid is designed to deliver stable performance in both grain and silage production sectors.

Agronomic Profile and Resistance

A standout feature of the GK 195 is its robust tolerance to Fusarium, a disease that causes significant annual losses for farmers in regions with inconsistent moisture. Its dent-type grain structure ensures excellent grain moisture release, which is critical during the autumn harvest, significantly reducing energy costs associated with post-harvest drying.

Cultivation Guidelines

• Planting Density: A density of 60,000–65,000 plants per hectare is considered optimal for maximizing potential without the risk of lodging.
• Usage: This is a versatile hybrid, performing equally well for commodity grain and high-energy silage production.
• Quality Standards: Starch content ranges from 70% to 73%, making it a valuable raw material for the animal feed industry and livestock farming.

GK 195 merges the deep scientific expertise of the Hungarian breeding tradition with the rigorous quality control standards of Woodstock. Choosing this hybrid is a strategic decision for growers seeking a balance between high yields, phytosanitary crop safety, and versatile end-use applications.
