Svetlana

Corn hybrid SVETLANA is a medium-early three-row hybrid included in the State Register for the Central Black Earth region. The plant is tall with medium-sized leaves, characterized by early tassel flowering and medium anthocyanin coloring of various plant parts, including the first leaf sheath, roots, and silk. The ear is medium or long, thick, with a short stalk and a high number of rows of kernels. The kernel type is intermediate, closer to dent, with yellow-orange upper part and yellow lower part. The vegetative period is approximately 123 days, which corresponds to the standard level for the region.

Hybrid SVETLANA is distinguished by high yield, averaging 73 centners per hectare, which is 46.6% higher than the standard, with a maximum recorded yield of 144 centners per hectare in the Lipetsk region in 2019. Grain moisture at harvest is approximately 33.2%, slightly higher than the standard. The corn has high drought resistance and good phytosanitary profile, making it resistant to major diseases such as helminthosporiosis, Fusarium of ear and stem, and powdery mildew.

Agronomic characteristics of the hybrid include high initial growth energy and the 'Stay Green' effect, which contributes to prolonged retention of green plant mass. Water shedding and lodging resistance are also at a high level, facilitating harvest and reducing yield losses. Recommended for cultivation in zones with sufficient and insufficient moisture, with optimal planting density of 65-75 thousand plants per hectare. Hybrid SVETLANA is suitable for grain production with good technological and agronomic performance.
