Corn Slavutich 230 SV is a medium-maturing hybrid with FAO 230, designed for obtaining high yields of grain under various climatic conditions in Ukraine. Plants reach a height of 150-200 cm, have a sturdy stem resistant to lodging and breakage, and possess 17-18 leaves on the main stem. The ear is large, cylindrical, 16-20 cm long, with 16-18 rows of kernels, ensuring high grain yield upon threshing — 80-82%. The grain is cream-colored, dent-shaped, with a 1000-grain weight of 280-300 g, containing 11.5% protein, 74.5% starch, and 3-4% fat. Strong ear attachment and low husk density make this hybrid convenient for combine harvesting.
The hybrid exhibits high drought and cold tolerance, as well as resistance to major diseases and pests, including corn leaf blight, corn borer, stalk rot, helminthosporiosis, and root rot. Tolerance to corn borer and rapid moisture release during ripening contribute to stable and high-quality yields. According to State Variety Testing data, grain yields across various trial sites in Ukraine range from 9.5 to 11 t/ha.
Slavutich 230 SV is recommended for cultivation in the Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe zones of Ukraine, with optimal seeding rates ranging from 55,000 to 100,000 plants per hectare depending on the region. The hybrid is adaptable to various agro-ecological conditions and demonstrates high resistance to lodging and drought, ensuring stable yields even under adverse weather conditions. Thanks to these characteristics, Slavutich 230 SV is a reliable choice for farmers seeking high-quality corn yields.
